Bobcats Land Top Denver-Area Golfer

Shannon Donegan, an all-state golfer from Chaparral High near Denver, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bobcat golf program, MSU coach Brittany Basye announced Wednesday.
Donegan won Colorado's 5A Regional championship on Monday (May 9), and was the Continental League's Most Valuable Golfer and earned 5A All-State honors as a junior. The two-time team captain finished ninth at the 5A Girls State Championships in 2004, and will compete in the 2005 state meet next week. As a senior, Donegan has won two tournaments and finished second twice.
"Shannon has a lot of quality experience playing junior golf, and has been very competitive in high school," Basye said. "She was a highly sought-after recruit, and I'm very, very excited that she's decided to join our program. This is an important signing for us."
