Seniors Honored at M-Club Banquet

BOZEMAN, Mont. -- When it was time for Sonny Holland, Montana State's winningest head football coach and one of the greatest athletes in school history, to single out an athlete at Tuesday night's M-Club Senior Awards Banquet, he didn't go where most would have expected him to.
He didn't pick Roger Cooper, a three-time All-Big Sky linebacker, or Braden Olson of the reigning Big Sky Championship men's tennis team, or women's basketball standout Kati Burrows. He chose Claude Boiteau.
The unheralded linebacker, Holland said, embodies the attitude and spirit of Bobcat Athletics, and of college athletics. Boiteau, a five-year walk-on from Bigfork, played rarely during his career. Yet, he volunteered for special team and scout team duty, and received his M-Club Senior Plaques from Mike Kramer on Tuesday.
Montana State University's 'M' Club, Bobcat Athletics' organization of former varsity letterwinners, honored 37 graduating student-athletes Tuesday night. Each student-athlete received M-Club plaques, and Holland exhorted each to become active in their communities upon graduation and to remain connected to Montana State, and to the M-Club.
