Bobcats Sixth After Desert Classic Round One

What a difference a weekend makes.
After finishing dead last at the Rio Verde East/West Invitational on Saturday, Montana State moved across Phoenix to host its own Bobcat Desert Classic, and posted a first-round 307, its best round of the spring by 25 strokes. Kylie Anderson fired an even-par 72 to lead the Bobcats.
"We played much better (Monday)," said MSU coach Brittany Basye. "We were more consistent and we hit the ball better. This is the best we've played this spring, and hopefully it will be a springboard for us."
Kelly Gillum shot a 76, Kristina Kurcinka shot a 77, Erica Leslie 82, and Stephanie Simmons 87. The second round of the 19-team tournament is Tuesday morning. Full results follow...
