Golfers Finish Opening Tourney at 18th

Kylie Anderson shot a third-round 78, the only sub-80 round by a Bobcat this spring, and MSU shot a spring-low 332 on Saturday. That effort wasn't enough to keep MSU from finishing 18th out of 18 at the Rio Verde East/West Invitational in the Phoenix area on Saturday.
Anderson's 78 was the best effort by a Bobcat in three spring rounds. She finished in 76th place with a 249. Kelly Gillum led MSU in the opening tourney (247, tied for 72nd), while Kristina Kurcinka (250, tied for 77th), Stephanie Simmons (261, tied for 99th), and Erica Leslie (262, 102nd) also competed. Kate Steffanich, competing unattached, finished 106th with a 276.
Montana State hosts the Bobcat Desert Classic at Goodyear, Ariz., beginning Monday, March 7.
