Bobcat Women End Season in Loss to Idaho State

MSU nailed three three-pointers in the first minute to race to an early 9-0 lead; however, Idaho State used its size and rebounding edge to eventually post a 72-59 win over the Bobcats, Saturday afternoon in Worthington Arena. The loss eliminated Montana State from the Big Sky Conference tournament.
“We came out on fire,” said MSU interim head coach Greg Kudrna. “It was probably one of our best starts of the year. However, we couldn’t sustain our energy for the entire game and we wore down in the end.”
Idaho State (12-15, 7-7) had four players in double-figures, led by Chelsey Chambers with 16. Missoula native Molly Hays chipped in 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Montana State (9-18, 3-11) was led by Alyssa Nelson with 13 points, while Hillary Scott and Jaimey Tanner added 12 and 11, respectively. Senior Kati Burrows, who was hampered by foul trouble, ended her stellar career at MSU with nine points and a team-high five rebounds.
Burrows, a graduate of Bozeman High School, finished her career third on the all-time Bobcat scoring chart with 1,528 points.
