Eastern Washington Women Down Bobcats

Montana State (9-16, 3-9) shot 50 percent in the first stanza, but went cold in the second stanza shooting 16 percent from the field. Eastern Washington (15-10, 7-5) held a commanding 43-31 advantage under the boards and forced the Bobcats into 22 turnovers.
“We didn’t get the little effort things done to win the game,” said MSU head coach Greg Kudrna. “Give Eastern Washington credit, they played 100 percent, while we were about 75 percent.”
The Bobcats were led in the loss by Kati Burrows with 11 points and five rebounds. Briana Fields also contributed to the MSU attack with six points and six rebounds.
In the opening period, MSU trailed 30-25 at the 3:47 mark on a Scotta Morton three-pointer. Eastern Washington responded with a 9-2 run to enter intermission with a 39-27 advantage.
EWU scored the first four points of the second half and shot 44 percent from the field to cruise to the victory.
MSU will host Weber State on Thursday night in Worthington Arena.
