Bobcat Men Picked To Finish First, Women Tabbed Third

Montana State returns five players from last year’s team that won the Big Sky title and advanced to the NCAA Championships. It was MSU’s second title in five years.
Head Coach Mike Phillips, who earned Coach of the Year accolades last spring, returns No. 1 singles player Federico Ueltschi, who is currently ranked No. 65 in the nation. Also returning are All-Big Sky Conference performers Marek Gebicki, Tejeshwara Chigateri and Braden Olson.
Men’s Poll: Montana State (5) 35, Sacramento State (1) 30, Idaho State (1) 26, Northern Arizona 23, Montana 16, Weber State 11, Eastern Washington 6.
The Bobcat women were picked to finish third, according to the preseason poll. MSU garnered 22 points, placing behind Sacramento State 36 and Northern Arizona 30.
MSU returns four starters to the line-up, while also boasting two freshmen at the Nos. 1-2 position.
