Montana State center Jeff Bolton earned First Team All-America honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation on Friday, the nation's oldest All-America squad.
Bolton, a 6-4, 302 senior from Hailey, Idaho, becomes the 19th All-America honoree in Mike Kramer's six seasons, the eighth to earn first-, second-, or third-team honors, and the third to earn first team kudos. He is the first member of the Walter Camp team, which selects only a first team, in the Kramer era.
"This is a great honor for Jeff," Kramer said. "He was a consistently dominant player for three seasons. He didn't perform at a First Team All-America level his senior season, he played this way all three years. Jeff Bolton will be remembered in much the same way as Jon Borchardt, as a dominant player and an all-time Bobcat."
Kramer said the things Bolton did physically account for only part of his value. "He played with a disposition that really helped this program turn the corner in attitude and intensity."
Bolton, a two-time All-Big Sky choice, led Montana State to three Big Sky Championships in the past four season. Bolton allowed only a half-sack and four critical errors this season.
