The 411:
The Montana State women’s basketball team will host a pair of non-conference games this weekend in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The Bobcats will face Long Beach State on Thursday, December 8 at 7:05 p.m. MSU will conclude its final 2005 homestand against the Air Force Academy on Saturday, December 10 at 2:05 p.m. Following this weekend’s games the Bobcats will travel to Portland and Cal State Fullerton.
On The Air:
All Bobcat games can be heard on 103.5 KZMY-FM. Veteran sportscaster Mark Martello will handle play-by-play duties this season. Martello will begin his broadcast with the pregame show beginning 20-minutes prior to tip.

MSU is currently mired in the program’s longest losing streak of eight games, which goes back to the final three contests of the 2004-05 campaign...Long Beach assistant Denise Curry is the daughter of former MSU basketball standout and Hall of Famer Les Curry and the aunt of current cross country star Graydon Curry.
That Was The Week That Was:
The Bobcats dropped their first road games of the season, last weekend in the Buckeye State. MSU opened the trip with a 73-60 loss at Akron. Junior Alyssa Nelson matched a career-high with 18 points, while also adding four assists and three steals. Also in double-figures for the Bobcats was freshman Jenny Heringer. The Billings Central graduate recorded 11 points, including three treys. Under the boards, MSU was paced by Nubia Garcia and Anne Phippard with seven rebounds, apiece. Last Saturday afternoon, Kent State downed Montana State 77-61 in the MAC Center. Three Bobcat reached double-digits, led by Heringer with 15, Nelson 11 and Scotta Morton 10. MSU trailed 33-23 at intermission and chipped the margin down to four points with 13-minutes left, however, KSU answered with a 16-2 run to put the game away. Heringer went five-of-ten from the field and added a season-high eight rebounds. For the game, Montana State shot 39 percent from the field, including a red hot 48 percent in the second stanza. Bobcat sophomore Amanda DeHaan added eight points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Stat of the Week:
The Bobcats had their best back-to-back shooting games in Ohio, combining for 38 percent from the floor.
The Scouting Report:
Long Beach State is 3-2 overall, after knocking off San Francisco 58-52 in overtime on Sunday. The Beach posted its best victory of the season on Nov. 23, when it upended No. 21 USC 51-46 The Walter Pyramid. Long Beach had been paced this season by Crystal McCutcheon, who coming off the bench, is averaging 11.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Against USF, McCutcheon scored 14 points and added four assists. The Air Force Academy is 4-1 overall and will play at Utah State on Thursday, before facing the Bobcats. The start is the best for Air Force as a Division I member. AFA is led by former Bobcat assistant Ardie McInelly. On the floor, the Falcons have four players averaging double-figures, led by Lauren Henderson at 11.4 ppg.
