San Diego (3-7) is coming off a double-digit loss to Boise State prior to the Christmas holiday. The Toreros are under the direction of first-year head coach Cindy Fisher. USD will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak and earn its first win at home. San Diego is averaging 60.1 points per game, and are led by Michelle Augustavo at 11.4 points per outing. Augustavo scored a school-record 42 points in the team's road loss at Clemson.
Duke, under the direction of 14th year head coach Gail Goestenkors (342-93), is currently ranked 2nd in the nation and is still perfect at 9-0 on the season. They lead the NCAA in scoring at 95.6 ppg with five players averaging in double digits. The team is led by Monique Currie (14.3 ppg).
