After winning back-to-back games for the first time this year, Montana State plays the second of four straight road games Saturday afternoon at Denver. Tipoff is at 2 pm. The Bobcats have lost two straight against Denver, which enters Saturday’s game 4-1.

Saturday’s game tips off at 2:05 pm MST at the University of Denver. The game is broadcast on the Bobcat State Farm Radio Network in Bozeman, Billings and Helena, and worldwide on the internet via SportsJuice.com. The game is not televised.
MSU vs. Denver
Montana State is 8-2 all-time against Denver, but lost a pair of games in the 2003-04 season, one in Bozeman and the other in Denver. MSU is 5-1 all-time in Bozeman, 2-1 in Denver, and 1-0 on a neutral court. Mick Durham is 0-2 against the Pioneers, while DU’s Terry Carroll is 2-0 against the Bobcats.
Streaks, Starts ‘n’ Stuff
Last year’s Bobcats lost their first five road games, and the team’s first six games away from Bozeman. This year’s squad began the year with three losses away from home – one of which was a true road game – before winning at Northern Colorado on Thursday… last year’s Bobcats didn’t win back-to-back games for the first time until games eight, nine and 10… this year’s team is now riding a two-game winning streak… the ‘Cats have lost two straight to Denver, but have won two straight against teams from Colorado… the Bobcats’ two-game winning streak has been compiled against teams that, like MSU, wear blue and gold.
Comings and Goings
The week just completed was hard on Bobcat point guards. Last year’s starter, Branden Miller, served a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team on Sunday against Wayland Baptist. Thursday, 2005 starter Ryan Holmes served a one-game suspension for the same issue. Holmes traveled to Pennsylvania with his family Friday for the funeral of his Grandmother. Casey Durham started in Thursday’s win at Northern Colorado. Miller scored 15 points with three assists and two steals at UNC, and could return to the starting lineup against Denver on Saturday.

Montana State allowed Northern Colorado to shoot 48% on Thursday, the highest opponent field goal percentage of the season… MSU had eight turnovers and six assists in the first half Thursday, but responded with 12 assists and six turnovers in the second half… after averaging 20.0 turnovers in the first three games, the Bobcats have given up just 26 total in the last two… the Bobcats outrebounded their opponents in two of the last three games, and were even in the third in that stretch… MSU has 41 assists in the last two games, the same number the team accumulated in its first three… MSU blocked only three shots Thursday, its second-lowest total of the season… while Saturday’s game is the second of four straight Bobcat road games, it marks the last time Denver plays at home in 2005… MSU shot 42% in the first half Thursday, 54% in the second… MSU entered Thursday’s game shooting just 55% from the line, but shot 83% at UNC.

Al Beye blocked two Northern Colorado shots, and now has blocked at least one shot in 10 straight games… Beye had nine boards at UNC, and now averages 8.6 per game… Carson Durr’s 10 points, four rebounds and two assists set career highs for the junior from Roberts… Marvin Moss has scored in double-digits in four of MSU’s five games this season, while Ja’Ron Jefferson has scored at least 10 in all five… Al Beye and Ted Morris combined to shoot 4-for-4 from the free throw line Thursday after shooting a combined 6-for-18 in MSU’s first four games of the season.
