Harriers Hand Out Awards

Elisabeth Driscoll, a sophomore from Bozeman, was named the women’s Top Gun recipient for accumulating the most points throughout the season. Driscoll, a two-time All-Big Sky Conference performer, finished tenth at the league championship and 34th at the NCAA Mountain Region meet.
Kurt Michels, a transfer from Utah, garnered Top Gun honors for the men’s squad. The Kalispell native earned all-conference honors after finishing eighth at the Big Sky Conference meet and 35th overall at the NCAA Mountain Region championship. Michels ran in the No. 1 slot for the Bobcats in three of five races this fall.
Carrie Gottschalk, a sophomore from San Marino, Calif., was named the women’s most improved performer. She started the season in the No. 4 spot for the Bobcats, and by season end was No. 1 at the NCAA Pre-Nationals; No. 2 at the NCAA Mountain Region race and No. 3 at the Big Sky Conference championship.
Devin McDowell, a freshman from Fairbanks, Alaska, was selected as the men’s most improved runner. McDowell also started the season in the No. 4 spot and emerged as MSU’s No. 3 runner at the Big Sky Conference championships.
Earning varsity letters for the Bobcat women were Driscoll, Gottschalk, Jayme Larson and Kayla Larson, while Michels, McDowell and Tony Bachmann garnered letters on the men’s side.
