Bobcats Wrap Up Fall Recruiting

Montana State rounded out its fall recruiting class by adding a pair of players from familiar territory last week while the team played in Alaska. The Bobcats added a high school point guard from Oregon and a junior college forward from Oklahoma.
Cory Davis from Salem, Ore., joined fellow Oregon prep star and Portland Panther AAU teammate Travis Derechowski in signing with the Bobcats. “Cory caught our eye last spring in the AAU Tourney,” MSU coach Mick Durham said of the 6-0, 175 lb guard from West Salem High. “Our guys are going to like playing with Cory. He’s a scorer, but he always looks to find the open man. Cory is a tough kid, mentally and physically, and he has played against very good competition. He’s a four-year high school starter since West Salem is only four years old. He’s been thrown into the fire in high school and he’s not going to be afraid. Cory’s understanding of the game is probably his strength. We’re excited about Cory’s future in our program.”
Anthony Jones, a 6-7, 205 lb forward originally from Richland Hills High School in Fort Worth, Tex., currently plays at Seminole State College in Oklahoma. Three current Bobcats played in the Oklahoma junior college ranks. “Anthony is an athletic power forward who is very active,” Durham said. “He fits our system extremely well, and we’re excited about what he brings to our program.” His Seminole team is off to a 7-1 start this season.
