Bobcat Women Ink Florida High School Point Guard

Perry, who prepped at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for two seasons, was ranked the eighth best player in the Class of 2006 by FloridaHoops.com. In addition, Perry’s high school team is ranked in the top 25, nationally, by Full Court Press.
“Erica will be an impact player in the Big Sky Conference,” Binford said. “She has great speed and vision and is a tremendous competitor. She’ll help us with our pressure defense and will give us a lot of versatility.”
Perry averaged 10 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 steals, while shooting 54 percent from the field and 78 percent from the free throw line as she helped her squad to a 20-4 overall mark, last winter.
For her efforts, she was named to the Adidas All-American squad. Last summer, Perry was MVP of the Oregon Trail tournament and garnered Wyoming All-Tournament accolades, as well.
Prior to playing in Florida, Perry prepped two seasons at Narbonne High School in Harbor City, Calif., where she guided her squad to the 2002 and 2003 Los Angeles City Championship. She also received the 2002 LA City Sportsmanship Award.
“A lot of Pac-10 schools were looking at her, as well as the likes of Pepperdine,” Binford said. “She wanted to come to a great academic institution where she could make an immediate impact as a freshman. We are ecstatic that she’s a Bobcat.”
An outstanding student, Perry is a National Honor Society recipient and a three-year honor roll selection.
She is the daughter of Ronald and Gwenette Perry of Lynwood, Calif.
