Balanced Attack Lifts Bobcat Spikers Past Idaho State

“We made a few adjustments, and the team adapted on a dime to play one of its most complete matches of the season,” said MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “That’s exactly the level of intensity we need to have going into the Big Sky Conference tournament.”
Also contributing to the Montana State (13-14, 6-7) attack were Meggie Malyurek with 13 kills, while Megan Zanto and Laura Viren notched 12, apiece. Viren, a freshman outside hitter, tallied a career-high kill total, while adding ten digs.
MSU had five players in double-figure digs, led by Kandice Kelly and Malyurek with 17, Brittni Sesler 15, and Patti Anderson 14.
At the net, the Bobcats out-blocked Idaho State (10-17, 4-9) 12-8 and were paced by Angela Wiebe with a match-high seven blocks.
Sesler dished out 42 assists.
The Bengals were led by Felice Yocopis and Nikki Havens with 17 and 15 kills, respectively.
MSU will host Weber State in Shroyer Gym on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both squads.
