DISCUSS WITH DURHAM: Vol. I

From RR, Missoula: With almost every contributing player returning from last year, this will be a team that the fans/boosters will be very familiar with. After a spring and summer of workouts, and five new players added to the mix, who or what should fans look for as a surprise or at least a new wrinkle in the team we watched last year?
Mick Durham: "I'm still at the open-mind stage. It's too early to know. We're trying to get ourselves in shape for the beginning of practice. I'm definitely interested in seeing how Derrick Edmonds and Ted Morris fit in with the nine returning guys."
From RR, Missoula: The Fans, boosters, and I would expect the coaches all have high hopes for this year’s team, but what should we expect for the Bobcats as we project 2 - 3 years out and what is your philosophy for planning for that future?
Mick Durham: "We're very involved in that process right now with fall recruiting. It all comes down to how we replace five good seniors. Last spring was a crucial part of that process in signing the three freshmen. To keep it going, we need another strong recruiting class. We're determined to put together back-to-back solid recruiting classes."
From PG, BobcatNation: What is the most important thing you would do differently during (last spring's Big Sky Conference Tournament) game?
Mick Durham: "I don't know that I would change our approach in that game as much as our approach in the nine days leading up to the game. We were rusty, and it took us the first half to shake that off. I would approach those nine days a little differently. Of course, Marvin Moss was in the hospital (sinus infection) before we left for Portland, so if we'd have played then we wouldn't have had Marvin. At the time I thought the time off was good for us, but looking back I'd definitely change the way we used that time."
From PG, BobcatNation: What is one thing that you learned from that loss that will help out this year's squad in their quest for the NCAA tournament?
Mick Durham: "I haven't even looked at the tape of that game, which tells you how disappointed I was to lose. Sometime before practice starts I'll close the door for a couple of hours and watch the tape. But it won't be fun."
