Sacramento State Spikers Sting Bobcats

Sacramento State (18-7, 8-1) out-hit the Bobcats .284 to .066 and held advantages in kills, aces and digs to post its eighth consecutive victory.
The Hornets were led by Atlee Hubbard with 18 kills and 12 digs, while Lindsay Haupt chipped in 12 kills and a team-high five blocks.
Montana State (10-12, 4-5) was led by Angela Wiebe with seven kills and five blocks. It was Wiebe’s first action since being sidelined with an illness on Sept. 25.
“We defeated Northern Arizona by committee on Friday, and we got rolled by Sacramento State by committee,” said third-year MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “I wasn’t happy with the way we competed.
“The good thing is that there is a lot of season remaining and we can still make a run,” Malauulu added.
Sacramento State built an early 8-0 advantage in the opening stanza to cruise to the win. The Hornets rallied from a 14-9 deficit in game two, outscoring the Bobcats 21-5 down the stretch. In the final game, Sacramento State got out to a quick 8-1 lead and never looked back.
Montana State will travel to Montana on Thursday.
