Bobcat Spikers Stop Three-Match Skid: Sweep Idaho State

“We had a great response to a disappointing loss at Weber State on Friday night,” said MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “We asked for someone to step-up, and we had three kids really answer the call. That was a tremendous effort.”
Stonehouse, an outside hitter from Medicine Hat, Alberta, finished the match hitting .300 from the field. Also in double-digit kills were Meggie Malyurek and Raelene Purnell with 14 and 11, respectively.
Malyurek also chipped in a .387 attack mark, nine digs and a block, while Purnell hit .429 from the floor and notched a match-high four blocks. Libero Kandice Kelly ended with a match-high 16 digs.
For the game, Montana State (9-11, 3-4) out-hit Idaho State .258 to .030, and also held the edge in kills, service aces and digs.
Idaho State (8-13, 2-5) was guided by Nikki Havens with nine kills and three digs.
MSU will host Northern Arizona next Friday in Shroyer Gym.
