Bobcats Grab Rare Win in Purple Palace

Montana State basketball teams have made 26 trips to the Purple Palace, formally known as the Dee Event Center, on the Weber State University campus. Twenty of those trips have ended in frustration.
But on Thursday, Mick Durham took his 15th team to Ogden and got a win. And while Durham wouldn't come out and say it, not many know better how hard it is to win in that building, nor do many know better than Durham how sweet a win at Weber State can be.
"It's fun to win here," Durham said after his third road win against Weber State, the most by any Bobcat head coach. The three wins in the Dee Event Center is also the most by a Bobcat coach.
Thursday's was one of Durham's most unlikely, and one of the most satisfying. After an embarrassing loss at Nebraska on Sunday, possibly the low poitn of the season, Durham talked more about attitude than execution. He talked more about playing the right way than of playing better.
And his team showed it against Weber. "We were more patient tonight," he said, "more unselfish. We didn't take a lot of quick shots. We need to stay on top of that, but that was important tonight."
Thursday's game wasn't always artistic, but it didn't matter to Durham. "The guys are excited, and I'm not taking that away from them tonight. We'll worry about Idaho State tomorrow."
