The Cougars held a commanding 49-30 advantage in rebounding and shot 46 percent from the field, while limiting the Bobcats to 26 percent.
Montana State (6-6) was paced in the loss by Hillary Scott with 14 points, while Kati Burrows added 11.
"We need to figure out why some kids aren't competing the way they should be," said MSU head coach Greg Kudrna. "Rebounding is about effort. We knew going in against a bigger team, that we needed a strong effort under the boards, and we didn't get it done."
Kristen Koslowski paced the Cougars in the win with 14 points.
MSU will conclude its non-conference schedule at Utah Valley State on Thursday night.
