Bobcats Ride that Winning Feeling

With another heart-stopping Big Sky Conference win in the books, Bobcat head coach Mick Durham and the heroes of MSU's last two wins weren't talking of game-winning shots after the game.
The conversation didn't center on the high-screen series that produced Thursday's game-winning three-pointer by Branden Miller. It didn't hinge on the decision-making of Miller, who has gotten the ball in the right player's hands at the end of two straight buzzer-beating wins.
The talk was of nerves. Emotion. Anxiety.
"I get nervous before games, and I was nervous tonight," said Bobcat guard Ja'Ron Jefferson. Miller, his roommate, agreed. "I was emotional," he said. "Too emotional."
Montana State's first home game in over three weeks, and the team's first conference home tilt, engendered considerable emotion. "I think the guys were ready to play at home, they were excited," said Durham, who coached in his 15th straight successful home opener as his alma mater's head coach on Thursday. "They were pretty wound up."
"It was our first home game, the crowd was nice," said Jefferson. "We were a little over-excited."
With their fourth straight win to open the Big Sky season, three on the road, Miller said another emotion is entering the scene. "This win gives us confidence," Miller said. "Everybody wants to win bad. Everybody wants to take their turn stepping up."
