Bobcat Women Travel to Sacramento State

The 411:
The Montana State women’s basketball team will conclude its seven-game road stretch when they play at Sacramento State and Northern Arizona. The first-leg of the road trip will be at Sacramento State, Thursday, Jan. 20 in The Hornet’s Nest. Tip is slated for 8:05 p.m. (MST). The ‘Cats will finish the weekend at NAU in Flagstaff, Saturday, Jan. 22 at 7:05 p.m. After being away from home for 38-days, MSU will host Eastern Washington on Jan. 27.
On The Air:
For the third straight season Dave Cowan will handle play-by-play duties of ALL regular and postseason Bobcat games on 103.5 KZMY-FM. Cowan will begin his broadcast with a pre-game show 20-minutes prior to tip-off.
Westward Ho:
MSU will once again take to the road, this time heading west to Sacramento State and Northern Arizona. The Bobcats are 6-2 all-time in The Hornet’s Nest, including four straight victories over Sac. State. The Bobcats are 9-6 all-time in Flagstaff and have captured the last two games in the Walkup Skydome.

Montana State is 14-3 all-time against Sacramento State and 27-10 all-time against Northern Arizona...Last winter, the Bobcats swept the season series from the Hornets, while also holding a 2-1 advantage over Northern Arizona. Against NAU, both squads won on the others floor. The deciding game came at the Big Sky tourney where MSU handed the Lumberjacks a 72-54 setback.
A Look At The Hive:
After going 1-26 last winter, Sacramento State is currently 4-10 overall and 0-2 in Big Sky play. Last weekend, the Hornets dropped a pair of road games- losing at Idaho State (63-57) and Weber State (66-49). Tyeisha Brown paced Sacramento St. with 10 points on both nights. For the season, Brown leads the team averaging 10.1 points per game, while Ashley Cadotte guides the Hornets under the glass, averaging 6.9 rebounds per contest.
Montana State Player of the Week:
Bobcat sophomore Alyssa Nelson was named Montana State Player of the Week for her effort against Montana on Friday night. Nelson almost led the Bobcats to an upset over the preseason favorite in Missoula. The native of Edina, Minn., notched a career-high 17 points, while also adding four assists and four steals. For the game, Nelson shot 70 percent (7-10) from the field, 50 percent (2-4) from long distance and was 1-of-1 from the free throw line.
