The 411:
The Montana State women’s basketball team will open its 2005 Big Sky Conference season at Montana, Friday, Jan. 14 at 7:05 p.m. in Missoula. The game will mark the 75th meeting between the two intra-state rivals. For MSU, the game marks its fifth straight on the road, where its currently 0-4.
On The Air:
For the third straight season Dave Cowan will handle play-by-play duties of ALL regular and postseason Bobcat games on 103.5 KZMY-FM. Cowan will begin his broadcast with a pre-game show 20-minutes prior to tip-off. The game will also be televised live by the MTN affiliates around the state, originating from KPAX in Missoula. The game can be seen locally on KBZK TV 7/26. KPAX Sports Director Tom Katz will handle the play-by-play, while Dan Toth, Sports Director at KBZK, will add color commentary.
The Big Sky Opener:
Montana State will open its 2005 Big Sky Conference season with three consecutive games on the road. The Bobcats open at Montana on Friday night. MSU will not be at home until they face Eastern Washington on Jan. 27.

Montana State is 11-5 all-time in Big Sky Conference openers. MSU lost its season opener at Weber State last winter....The Bobcats are 17-57 all-time against Montana...In the last ten meetings between to two storied rivals, the series is tied at 5-5...MSU’s last win in Missoula came on Jan. 3, 1999.
The Scouting Report:
Montana went 7-6 during the non-conference season, and are coming off a 65-53 setback to Colorado State. On the year, the Lady Griz have been led by senior center Hollie Tyler, who leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 13.5 points and 8.5 boards per game. Also averaging double-figures is Katie Edwards. The Fergus High grad is chipping in 11.5 points per game and leads UM with 29 three-pointers. Montana shoots 38 percent from the field.

Bobcat senior forward Kati Burrows was named Montana State University Player of the Week. The 5-foot-10 native of Bozeman notched 17 points and 11 rebounds, as the Bobcats dropped a pair of non-conference road games. Burrows tallied 11 points and four rebounds, while shooting 63 percent from the field in MSU’s loss at Brigham Youngs. Against Utah Valley State, Burrows added six points and seven rebounds
