Gillum Leads MSU Golfers

Freshman Kelly Gillum shot a one-over par 73 to lead Montana State in the first round of the Inland Empire Golf Classic in Spokane on Monday.
Gillum extends her career-opening stretch of sub-80 rounds to four, while Kylie Anderson shot a 75. Erica Leslie shot an 84, Stephanie Simmons an 85, and Katie Steffanich a 91.
"Kelly really played well today, and Kylie rounded into form," said MSU coach Brittany Basye. "I'm excited with how they play, and Erica, Stephanie and Katie just need to be more consistent. We had a good round, and we're close to playing very, very well."
MSU concludes the tournament with a second round on Tuesday.
