2004 Montana State Football Sunday Notebook
Colorado State 39, MSU 14 – September 25 in Huges Stadium, Fort Collins
INJURY REPORT: The Bobcats suffered no new injuries in Saturday’s game at CSU, although the laundry list of physical ills heading into that game was staggering. The ‘Cats were missing their three top corners – Kahiam Hunter (shoulder) and Eddie Smith (hamstring), who are likely out for the season, and Kory Austin, doubtful for Idaho State with a concussion. Linebacker Jonathan Molock (ankle) also missed the CSU game, and is questionable for Idaho State. On offense, the ‘Cats were without tailback Justin Domineck (ankle) and Rick Gatewood (shoulder). Both are questionable for Idaho State. Kicker Tyler Bolton is out for the season after having toe surgery last week. Blake Wolf left the game early after suffering a bit hit to the mid-section, but is probable for ISU.

• Beau Clark had two sacks against CSU, the defensive tackles third two-sack day in the last 10 games
• Montana State has intercepted a pass in each if its first three game
• The Bobcats had two rushing plays for 20 yards or more Saturday, the first two ground gains of that long this season
• Four players made their first starts for the Bobcats on Saturday – Morris Milton at running back, Eddie Sullivan at the Z receiver spot, Brandon Eggart at weak-side linebacker, and Martin Henderson at a corner
• Montana State has not kicked a field goal yet this season (0-for-4)
INDIVIDUAL NOTES/PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
OFFENSE: QB Travis Lulay, 6-2, 205, Jr, Aumsville, OR
Travis Lulay completed 20 of his 36 passes, with two touchdowns and one interception, against Division I-A Colorado State. Lulay threw for 196 yards, and also rushed for 66 yards, giving hi 262 yards of total offense. OTHER NOTES: Travis Lulay was Montana State’s leading rusher for the second straight game, and his 66 yards is a season-high… Lulay’s run of 33 yards on Saturday and Morris Milton’s of 44 are MSU’s longest rushing plays of the season… Chaz Guinn caught two touchdown passes Saturday
DEFENSE: FS/CB Ryan Force, 6-2, 196, So, Lake Oswego, OR
Ryan Force led the Bobcats in tackles with nine on Saturday, and also broke up one pass. The Bobcats played without their top three cornerbacks, facilitating the move of Force to corner for much of the game. Force had never played cornerback in a game before at any level. OTHER NOTES: Roger Cooper had two sacks on Saturday, his first sacks of the season… Ryan Force was spectacular, getting a career-high nine tackles with one pass breakup, and because of MSU’s injury situation spent much of the day at cornerback… Toph Grenfell intercepted one pass and broke up another… Beau Clark had two sacks, the second time in MSU’s last four regular season games he’s accomplished that.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Brandon Roosevelt, 5-11, 175, So, Wilsonville, OR
Brandon Roosevelt returned five kickoffs for 102 yards on Saturday. OTHER NOTES: Bobcat kicker Travis Doroski had one more touchback on Saturday, giving him six on the season… Mike Williams averaged 11 yards on his three punt returns… EJ Cochrane punted for the first time as a Bobcat, nailing a 57-yarder… Travis Lulay averaged 37.8 yards on his five punts, nailing CSU inside their own 20 twice… EJ Cochrane missed a 30-yard field goal.
