“We played consistently well for a longer period of time and that was the difference,” said MSU second-year head coach Miya Malauulu. “Passing, hitting, digging, blocking, the whole nine, we got the job done.”
Montana State (9-4, 1-1) out-hit the Wildcats .287 to .140, while also holding an advantage in kills, digs, service aces and blocks.
Also contributing to the MSU win was Kamber Kelly with 40 assists, 12 digs and seven kills. Kinvig completed a double-double with 11 digs, and Megan Zanto paced the Bobcats at the net with a team-high eight blocks.
Kaylie Kortsen had 14 kills, while hitting .462 from the field to pace Weber State (2-11, 1-1).
Montana State will host Sacramento State on Friday night in Shroyer Gym.
