“We got off to a slow start and gave up a few runs, but once we found our rhythm we got into a nice flow, offensively,” said second-year Bobcat coach Miya Malauulu. “We established our middles, and both Megan and Angela had a great match.”
Also contributing to the Montana State (7-2) win was setter Kamber Kelly with 40 assists, eight digs, seven kills and three blocks. LeAnn Kinvig and Kandice Kelly paced the Bobcats defensively with 12 digs, apiece.
For the match, MSU out-hit Northeastern (4-5) .240 to .109 and held a narrow nine to eight margin in blocking.
The Bobcats will face Florida International later this afternoon.
