Rookies Lead Bobcat Golfers

Freshmen Kelly Gillum and Stephanie Simmons each fired two rounds in the 70s to lead Montana State in the first round at Colorado State's Ptarmigan/Ram Invitational in Fort Collins on Monday.
Gillum posted rounds of 76 and 79, and Simmon fired a 77 and a 79, while veteran Kylie Anderson shot a team-low 75 and 78 for MSU. The Bobcat team is 15th out of 18 after two rounds.
"I'm really proud of how the freshmen played," said MSU coach Brittany Basye. "Kylie is back in form, too. We need Erica to be a little more consistent with her swing and she'll be fine."
Leslie shot two rounds of 84 for MSU, while Kate Steffanich shot 88-90. MSU finishes with one round on Tuesday morning.
