* Montana State won a season opener for only the second time in Mike Kramer’s five years against Adams state on Saturday, but the win made MSU victorious in its third straight home opener
* Montana State’s three touchbacks on Saturday matched the number MSU managed all of last season
* Montana State fumbled four times on Saturday, more than the team fumbled in any one game in 2003 (MSU fumbled three times in three different games last year)
* Travis Lulay’s 81-yard punt was the second-longest in MSU history
* The Bobcats’ shutout was MSU’s first in a season-opener since 1965, when the team beat South Dakota State
Montana State’s last shutout was October 4, 2003, at Saint Mary’s (40-0)

OTHER NOTES: Montana State’s running back tandem of Justin Domineck and Morris Milton, a pair of transfers, combined to gain 107 yards on 24 carries Saturday… MSU fumbled four times Saturday, twice by Domineck… 11 of MSU’s 14 pass completions on Saturday were to players who had never caught passes for the Bobcats before… Travis Lulay’s 14-for-39 effort was his worst as a Bobcat.
DEFENSE: DE Ray Sebestyen, 6-3, 265, Sr, San Diego, CA
Playing defensive end for the first time in his career, Ray Sebestyen keyed Montana State’s defensive effort in the team’s season-opening 19-0 win over Adams State. Sebestyen registered seven tackles, including four assists. He had two tackles for a loss, and one sack. OTHER NOTES: Mac Mollohan registered a sack on Saturday… Roger Cooper blocked a kick, had 1.5 tackles for loss and five total tackles.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Travis Lulay, 6-2, 205, Jr, Aumsville, OR
Travis Lulay punted six times for an average of 48.3 yards on Saturday. He nailed an 81-yard punt, the second-longest in Montana State history, and after allowing just 37 return yards last year Lulay’s punting limited Adams State to just seven return yards on Saturday. He pinned the Grizzlies inside the 20 once. Lulay also completed a pass out of punt formation, a 15-yarder to Roger Cooper that extended MSU’s second touchdown drive. OTHER NOTES: MSU kicker Travis Doroski failed in his first extra point try as a Bobcat, his only PAT chance on the afternoon… true freshman Tyler Bolton nailed his only PAT, and enters week two as MSU’s place-kicker… Doroski had three touchbacks, matching Montana State’s total from 2003, and his only returnable kickoff came after MSU was flagged for off-side… Mike Williams returned a punt 59 yards to set up the team’s final TD, and he averaged 25.0 yards on his four punt returns.
