Bobcat Spikers Squander Leads as Boise State Wins in Four

“We made too many errors, we didn’t compete and we weren’t very smart,” said MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “We need to have a positive response to this loss.”
Megan Zanto paced the Bobcats in the loss with 13 kills and six blocks, while Meggie Malyurek added 11 kills and 14 digs. MSU setter Kamber Kelly dished out 30 assists and added ten digs and five blocks. Kandice Kelly added a match-high 21 digs.
Montana State (5-2) held four-point leads in games 2, 3 and 4, only to see the Broncos answer with numerous runs. In game three, Boise State (6-1) rallied from a 16-14 deficit with a 10-2 run to secure the win. In the final set, the Bobcats held a 21-16 advantage, before BSU out-scored Montana State 14-6 down the stretch.
Boise State was led in the victory by Jamie Claussen with 14 kills and a team-best 19 digs.
MSU finishes tournament play against Portland, Saturday evening.
