Under a unique joint venture, Max Media of Montana and RapComm of Butte, Mont., have joined together to televise Montana State's September 25 game at Colorado State throughout Montana.
The MSU-CSU game matches MSU against a pair of former Bobcat head coaches. Current Rams head coach Sonny Lubick coached the 'Cats from 1977-81, compiling a 21-19 career record. CSU assistant coach Dave Arnold led MSU to the 1984 National Championship, and posted an 18-29 records at MSU. CSU assistant head coach Mick Delaney was also a Bobcat assistant in the late '70s.
"There is a tremendous amount of interest in the CSU game, and we're very happy that the Max Media stations have stepped forward to partner with RapComm to bring this game back to the state of Montana," said MSU Athletic Director Peter Fields. "We appreciate the efforts of both those parties to put together an outstanding statewide network."
Seven stations in Montana's six major markets are slated to carry the MSU-CSU game, which begins at 1 pm on September 25. Those stations are:
Bozeman, KWYB-ABC 28
Butte, KWYB-ABC 18
Billings, KSVI-ABC 6 and KHMT-Fox 4
Missoula, KTMF-ABC 23
Kalispell, KTMF-ABC 59
Great Falls, KTGF-NBC 16
Fields indicated that the addition of the CSU game completes MSU's television schedule, and guarantees the live broadcast of the school's 11 regular season home games. "This is great news for our fans across the state, and is indicative of the amount of interest Bobcat football is drawing statewide. It's particularly important that all five of our road games will be televised live, so our fans that aren't able to travel can see each of our games in 2004."
Dan Rapkoch and Rip Cook will produce the MSU-CSU contest.
