Elizabeth Driscoll, a standout distance runner from Bozeman High School, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to join the Montana State track and field program, MSU head coach Dale Kennedy announced on Thursday.
"This is a major signing for us," Kennedy said. "We've signed some outstanding distance runners this spring, but this is the capstone signing. Elizabeth is an exceptional talent, and she brings a tremendous amount to this program and this University."
Driscoll finished second in the state 3200m as a freshman, fourth in cross country and the 1600m and third in the 3200m as a sophomore, second in cross country and the 3200m and third in the 1600m as a junior, and sexond in cross country as a senior. She currently leads the state in the 3200m (11:05.7), and has best marks of 5:12.99 in the mile.
Driscoll is a Presidential Scholar who is ranked first in her Bozeman High class with a 4.0 grade point average. "Elizabeth is an outstanding student, and has achieved to a high degree," Kennedy said. "I expect her to be an important part of our immediate future, and a cornerstone of our long-term success. She is an exciting addition to our program."
