Allen Earns Fourth AOW Honor

Jen Allen helped the Bobcats grab their eighth straight dual victory of Montana on Saturday afternoon. On Tuesday, she grabbed a piece of history.
The senior from Billings became the first athlete in Big Sky Conference history to earn women's field events athlete of the week honors four times in one season. She joins three runners as four-time winners in one season: Rebecca Bennion of Weber State (2001), Carmel Major of Boise State (1986), and Annette Hand of MSU (1985).
"Jen is really having a dominant season," Bobcat coach Dale Kennedy said. "I think she consolidated all the great things she'd accomplished in her career during the Big Sky indoor championships, and right now she's finishing her career in style."
Allen won Big Sky shot put and weight throw titles during the 2004 conference indoor championships in Bozeman, and currently leads the conference in the shot put, hammer throw, and discus. She won all three of those events at last weekend's annual Bobcat-Grizzly dual, won handily by MSU for the eighth consecutive year. Allen is also one of two Big Sky Conference women to qualify for the NCAA Regionals in three events.
The Bobcats close their regular season at the Montana Last Chance Qualifier this weekend in Missoula.
