Hodge Wins Decathlon Title

Montana State opened the Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships in style Thursday, as Bobcats Steven Hodge and Brad Benjamin finished first and second in the decathlon competition at Weber State's Stewart Stadium.
Hodge scored a personal best 6,736 points, while Benjamin scored 6,697. Teammate Jim Evans snuck up to sixth place, with a personal best 5,683 points.
"This is a great way to start the meet," said MSU coach Dale Kennedy. "We were expected to go 4-5, but the kids scored what they thought they could, and the results were really spectacular."
The remainder of the meet begins on Friday.
