Senior thrower Blake Jackson became the first Bobcat ever, and the third man in Big Sky history, to pull off a shot put hat trick on Friday. Jackson won his third straight Big Sky Conference shot put championship
Jackson's mark of 58-1 gave him his third straight league title, making him the first Bobcat to ever win a field event three years in a row, and putting him in select company with MSU legend Shannon Butler as the only three-time Big Sky champion in one event. Tanner Rauk also set a personal best mark, finishing third with a toss of 56-7.25.
Brad Benjamin set a PR of 53.02 in qualifying for the 400 hurdle finals. MSU finished 2-4-5-7 in the men's pole vault, while Blake Barnes ran a season's best 14.87 in the 110 hurdles. Ty Norris' mark of 48.16 in the 400 was also a PR.
