Bobcat Men Advance to Big Sky Title Match

Top seeded Montana State (16-5) used three singles victories and the doubles team point to down No. 4 seed Northern Arizona 4-0 Friday afternoon at Weber State.
Sophomore sensation Federico Ueltschi clinched the victory for the Bobcats with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Thibault Schram at the No. 1 singles position.
Also winning singles matches for MSU were Tejeshwara Chigateri at No. 3 and Jake Berriochoa at No. 6. Montana State last played in the Big Sky title match in 2002. MSU’s last Big Sky title was in 2000 when the Bobcats defeated Sacramento State.
Idaho State won a thrilling match 4-3 over Sacramento State at Ogden High School. The deciding match came at No. 3 singles where Ivan Moferdin of ISU defeated Sacramento State’s Nick Sheehan 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).
