'Cats Split with Griz, Throwers Sweep

Led by a dominating group of throwers, Montana State earned a dual meet split with the Grizzlies and a 3-3 overall record at the Al Manuel Duals in Missoula Saturday.
MSU throwers won every single event on Saturday. The Bobcat men beat Eastern Washington and lost to UM and Idaho State, and the Bobcat women beat Montana and Eastern, losing to ISU.
Blake Jackson won the men's discus (167-0), shot put (58-7.5), and hammer throw (178-6). Joel Walthall captured the javelin throw (203-1), with Ed Keefe capturing MSU's other individual title in the pole vault (16-0). Jen Allen won the discus (145-4), hammer throw (185-9), and shot put (47-9.75) on the women's side, while Amanda Emslie won the javelin (15-03). Courtney Hugstad-Vaa won the steeplechase (11:55.97).
