Gebicki Named Big Sky Tennis Player of the Week

The sophomore from Lodz, Poland, won both of his singles and doubles matches. Gebicki opened the weekend playing at No. 1 singles, where he defeated EWU’s Kevin Erickson 6-1, 6-0, before dropping down to his usual No. 2 spot, where he downed BYU’s Richard Dasek 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
Gebicki also combined with Braden Olson at No. 1 doubles, where the tandem handed EWU an 8-3 setback, before upsetting the Cougars top duo of Erik Nyman and Nima Roshan 8-5. Gebicki has an overall singles mark of 24-7 and a No. 1 doubles mark of 14-4.
The honor is the second for Gebicki this season and the sixth for a Bobcat this spring, as well.
The Bobcat men’s tennis team is the No. 1 seed at this week’s Big Sky Conference tournament, which opens on Thursday in Ogden, Utah.
