Allen Leads Bobcats this Weekend

Jen Allen landed a rare Big Sky Conference triple this week. The senior throws standout from Billings moved to the top of the league's standings in three throwing events (the shot put, hammer throw, and discus), landed her third Big Sky Conference Field Events Athlete of the Week award, and became the first league athlete to qualify for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in three events.
"Jen is just having a spectacular senior season," said MSU coach Dale Kennedy. "She is really on track to have a strong finish to a memorable career as a Bobcat."
Allen will lead a large contingent of Bobcats to the Robison Invitational at BYU this weekend. The bulk of the Bobcat team will travel to Provo, while the sqaud's distance runners will take advantage of an opportunity to compete at sea level by competing at the Oregon Invitional in Eugene.
"This is a weekend of high-quality competition, wherever our kids end up," Kennedy said. "BYU is an outstanding meet with a lot of quality programs competing, and it's also a good meet because they run trials on Friday and finals on Saturday, which mimicks the format of the Big Sky Conference meet.
"The Oregon Invitational attracts the top kids from the West Coast and really from throughout the nation," Kennedy said. "It's an outstanding atmosphere for our runners, and will give several kids a chance to either qualify for the NCAA Midwest Regionals or the Big Sky Championships."
