Bobcat Men’s Tennis Team Sweeps Past Eastern Washington

The win gives the Bobcats a perfect 6-0 mark in Big Sky Conference play. This is the first season that the Big Sky has played a conference schedule. The victory also improves MSU’s overall record to 15-4 and ensures them of the No. 1 seed at the league championships next weekend in Ogden, Utah.
Montana State opened the match winning the doubles point, before claiming all six singles matches in straight sets.
“The guys are really have an outstanding season,” said MSU head coach Mike Phillips. “They are having a lot of fun and you can see their confidence building we each match.”
MSU will play its final regular-season match at Brigham Young on Saturday afternoon in Provo, Utah.
“The BYU match was a late addition to the schedule, but I think it will be the perfect tune-up for the Big Sky championships,” Phillips said. “BYU is an outstanding program and this match will really help our kids focus on their game and prepare them for next week.”
