Bobcats Move to Sixth at Big Sky

Powered by four a season-high four golfers shooting in the 70s, Montana State jumped Idaho State and Montana on Tuesday to jump into second place at the Big Sky Championships after two rounds. The final round begins at 7:30 am Wednesday at Palm Valley Golf Club in the Phoenix area.
Eastern Washington shot a conference-record score to take command of the event's top spot, while the Bobcats were making their move out of the basement. MSU is just three shots out of fifth place and eight out of fourth.
"We had a couple of players that finally broke through that 80 barrier, so they finally believe they can do it," said MSU coach Brittany Basye. "It's too bad it happened with only one round left in the season, but it should give us a big boost heading into the final round and into next season."
Tiffani Spring led MSU with a 75, Kylie Anderson and Amanda Nielson shot 77, Kristina Kurcinka shot 76, and Erica Leslie shot 80.
