Bobcat Throwers Shine in California

Montana State seniors Blake Jackson and Jen Allen performed well at a pair of meets in California on Saturday.
At the Mt. SAC Relays, one of the nation's most prestigious track and field meets, Jackson finished seventh in the discus (161-0) and fourth in the shot put (58-4). Jen Allen finished sixth in the discus (158-1, a regional qualifying mark), and threw the hammer 185-0.
At the Long Beach State Invitational, Jackson posted a season's best mark in the sot put (59-3). Allen finished second in the hammer throw (190-5) and improved her league lead and regional qualifying mark.
Also this weekend, Casey Jermyn withdrew midway through the 5,000 m at Mt. SAC, while pole vaulter Ed Keefe registered a no height at the Lafayette Invitational in Pa.
