Montana State Tennis Teams Face Sacramento State

“We’re looking forward to a very challenging match,” said MSU men’s coach Mike Phillips. “Our match with Sacramento State will go a long way in determining seeding for the Big Sky Conference tournament.
“We’ve started a good rivalry with Sacramento State, and I expect Sunday’s match to go the distance,” Phillips added.
The Bobcat men are 13-4 overall and 4-0 in Big Sky action. MSU will be led by No. 1 singles standout Federico Ueltschi, who has posted a 25-6 record this season. The sophomore from Mendoza, Argentina is ranked No. 80 in this week’s collegiate tennis poll.
The Montana State women are 7-14 overall and 1-3 in Big Sky play. The Bobcats have been paced this season by No. 1 singles player Vera Vasileva, who has posted a 9-13 overall mark.
“Sacramento State has an outstanding team,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “They are coming off a pretty convincing win over No. 10 Fresno State. Our girls are really looking forward to the challenge of playing a top notch team.”
MSU will close out its regular-season when they host Eastern Washington next weekend.
