Hinzpeter Joins MSU Staff

Lacy Hinzpeter, one of the most productive and decorated student-athletes in Big Sky Conference track and field history, has been tabbed interim assistant coach for the Montana State track and field squad.
Hinzpeter will help coach Bobcat sprinters. The Minot, N.D., native won eight Big Sky Conference championships, leading MSU to Big Sky team titles in 2001 (indoors) and 2003 (outdoors). She holds the conference record for points scored during indoor championship meets with 78, and is holds the best long jump mark in Big Sky history and in the history of the conference championship meet (20-9).
"Lacy had an outstanding career here, and she has shown a willingness to step in and share what she learned as a competitor with our current athletes," said MSU coach Dale Kennedy. "She has a tremendous amount of knowledge and credibility, and I appreciate her willingness to help out."
Hinzpeter replaces Christy Mastel, who resigned her post as assistant coach during the indoor season.
