Bobcats Post Solid Marks at Stanford

Mission accomplished.
A half-dozen Montana State athletes traveled to the Stanford Invitational on Friday and Saturday with the goal of using top-flight competition to post quality marks. Led by a strong group of throwers, the Bobcats satisfied that goal.
Blake Jackson hit NCAA Midwest Regional qualifying marks in the hammer throw (171-6) and shot put (56-5.75) to lead the way. The senior from Glenrock, Wyo., also threw the discus 145-5. Tanner Rauck marked 55-8.25 in the shot put, also a regional qualifying mark. On the women's side, Jen Allen hit regional qualifying marks in the shot put (46-11.75) and hammer throw (182-7), and missed by 14 inches in the discus (151-8, the standard is 152-10). Hannah Furlong had a toss of 45-5.75 in the shot put.
Casey Jermyn led MSU track athletes last weekend by logging an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 29:35.52 in the 10,000, while Steve Heberly ran 22.83 in the 200 and 11.31 in the 100.
