Bobcat Women Open Big Sky Tourney Against Northern Arizona

On The Air:
For the second straight season Dave Cowan will handle play-by-play duties of ALL regular and postseason Bobcat games on 96.7 KISS-FM. Cowan will begin his broadcast with a pre-game show 20-minutes prior to tip-off.
On a Roll:
The Bobcats will enter the 2004 Big Sky Tournament as the third hottest team in the league, based on consecutive wins. Montana State has won its last four games, which is third behind Montana (15) and Weber State (6).
The Big Sky Conference Tournament:
The 16th Big Sky Conference Tournament will take place March 11-13 in Missoula. It will mark the first time in four years that tourney has been held in Montana. Play begins on Thursday, March 11 as No. 3 Weber State faces No. 6 Eastern Washington at 5:30 p.m., followed by No. 4 Montana State and No. 5 Northern Arizona at 8:05 p.m. Both games will be played in Dahlberg Arena. On Friday, No. 2 Idaho State will play the highest remaining seed at 5:30 p.m., followed by No. 1 Montana versus the lowest remaining seed at 8:05 p.m. The BSC title game will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 7:05 p.m.
Scouting Northern Arizona:
The Bobcats and Northern Arizona split their regular-season series, each winning on the others homecourt. Two weeks ago, MSU posted a 68-66 victory in Flagstaff. The ‘Cats were paced in the victory by Kati Burrows with 21 points, followed by Belinda Stubbs 13, and Sheila Hutchison 12. In their first meeting of the season, the Lumberjacks posted a 77-62 win over MSU in Worthington Arena. Lacey Tolbert had 32 points for NAU, while Burrows tallied 21 and Hutchison 19 for the ‘Cats. NAU has been guided this winter by Tolbert and freshman Alyssa Wahl at 13.8 and 12.7 points per game.
Big Sky Conference Player of the Week:
Senior Sheila Hutchison garnered her third Big Sky Conference Player of the Week accolade for her efforts last weekend against Portland State and Eastern Washington. For the weekend, she averaged 20 points, 10.5 rebounds, six assists and four steals per game. She tallied back-to-back double-doubles with 22 points and 11 rebounds versus Portland State and 18 points and ten boards against EWU.
