Erickson's Jersey Retired Sunday

Jason Erickson, the headiest player in the Big Sky Conference over the past four years, never saw this one coming.
"I was totally shocked," Erickson said of the brief pre-game ceremony before Sunday's 80-74 loss to Sacramento State, in which his jersey was retired. Erickson became the first Bobcat so honored.
"That was a great honor," said MSU's senior captain. "It's the culmination of a lot of things, a lot of support I've received from my coaches and my teammates and people at the University. It's a great honor, and I'm really proud."
Erickson finishes his career as the school's all-time leader in steals, and also is among MSU's career leaders in scoring, three-point shooting, and free throw shooting. He will graduate this spring, his fourth year, with his computer science degree, and a grade point average of 3.5. He is a former Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year and Most Valuable Player.
"Jason did everything we asked of him during his four years," said MSU coach Mick Durham. "And as good as he was on the court, he was better off it. If there's a better leader in college basketball I'd like to meet the kid, because he'd really have to be something.
"Jason Erickson is an all-time Bobcat, and it was a pleasure to coach him."
