The Big Sky Conference’s convoluted playoff picture is now as simple as it can be for Sacramento State and the Bobcats, who play the league’s last regular season game in Bozeman on Sunday afternoon.
Win, and you’re in. Lose, and you’re finished.
Idaho State put both teams in that situation late Saturday by beating league-leading Eastern Washington in double-overtime. By holding its home court, the Bengals clinched the Big Sky’s fifth playoff spot. The lone remaining slot goes to the winner of the MSU-Sac State game.
Earlier Saturday, Weber State beat Portland State, which eliminated the possibility of MSU winning any sort of tie-breaker if the team loses.
MSU and the Hornets tip off at 2:05 pm Saturday in Worthington Arena. The game will be the final home tilt for seniors Jason Erickson, Danny Faaborg, Calvin Ento, and Josh Barsh.
