Now that's a triple double.
For the third time in MSU's five-week indoor track and field season, senior throwers Blake Jackson and Jen Allen earned Big Sky Conference men's and women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Alle, from Billings, won the shot put and weight throw at last weekend's MSU Dual Meet Invitational. Her shot put mark of 50-6 improved her Big Sky lead and her own school record. She also threw the weight 61-10.5, and has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in both events.
Jackson, from Glenrock, Wyo., improved his Big Sky lead and NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a 60-8 put of the shot. It was the second-best mark in school history, and the sixth-best toss in Big Sky history. He also finished second in the weight throw last week (59-9.75).
Allen and Jackson lead MSU into action next weekend at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in Bozeman.
