Weber State Women Ride Big Second Half Run to Down Bobcats

After trailing 41-32 at intermission, Montana State (10-12, 2-7) cut the deficit to 43-40 at the 17:15 mark on a Kati Burrows field goal. However, Weber State (12-10, 6-3) scored 15 consecutive points to take its largest lead of the game at 58-40 with 11:27 remaining on a Laura Porter three-pointer to secure the victory.
WSU was paced in the win by Angela Sampson with 18 points and eight rebounds. Also in double-digits for the Wildcats were Sheila Robertson 14, Julie Gjertsen 14, and Becky O’Neil 13. For the game, Weber State shot 50 percent from the field and a red-hot 63 percent (8-13) from beyond the three-point arc.
The Bobcats were led in the loss by Burrows with a team-high 17 points, including a nine-of-12 effort from the free throw line. Also in double-figures for the Bobcats was Sheila Hutchison with 11 points on five-of-ten from the field.
WSU held a narrow 35-32 advantage under the boards. The Bobcats were guided under the glass by Burrows with seven rebounds. For the game, MSU shot 35 percent from the floor and 15 percent from three-point range.
MSU will play at Montana next Friday night.
